Deepest condolences to Joanne and the Spurlino family on this anniversary of Cy's passing. He was a generous humanitarian in every sense of the word. He supported our organization, the Early Childhood Council, which allowed us in turn to provide children with laptops, families with food and staff with new resources among other things. May he rest in peace in God's hands.

Condolences to the Spurlino family. Mr Spurlino with his philanthropy provided S. Hillsborough County with a beautiful facility in the Spurlino YMCA where young children learn to swim, learn leadership, learn sports, and where young adults and seniors get their fitness and learn and practice the values of the Y.

I want to express my personal and professional condolences to Joanne and the entire Spurlino family. Cy and Joanne's commitment to the community is a true inspiration to so many. Cy's good humor, compassion, generosity and intellectual curiosity was inspiring from the first day I met him. I truly enjoyed talking about education, especially STEM programs and community schools, with him as they were a particular passion of his. His advocacy and philanthropy will have a lasting impact on so many children and families.

I´ll never forget meeting Cy at McDonald´s for the first time. He was kind and generous; he knew I was nervous. I asked him to take a leap of faith with me to support a program that others couldn´t quite wrap their head around. Together, we worked through details and created something wonderful. It was the single largest donation I had ever asked for and it allowed us to expand our courthouse facility dog program, changing the lives of hundreds of children along the way. I loved hearing his stories as much as I loved getting his advice. He quietly, gracefully, made the world a better place and I will miss him.

I am director of a small nonprofit in Vermont that helps homeless teenagers. I wrote a column in Forbes magazine in 2004 that Cy read and he sent us a check for several thousand dollars with a note that read, "We little guys need to stick together." He and Joanne have been donating faithfully to us ever since. I flew to FL to finally meet them in 2016 and I am so glad I did. Godspeed Cy, I am grateful for all you did for us and for countless others who are trying to make a difference in this world.

My heart goes out to Joanne and the family on the passing of Cy, a beloved husband and father. He had many friends and will long be remembered.
The thirteen years I worked at Westroc in Utah were the highlight of my career. We had a great management team and Cy was the head of it. His honesty and integrity were refreshing, and his interest in charitable causes was inspiring. He was a businessman with a heart of gold and a joy to work for, but more importantly, he was a friend. He will be missed by all of us.
