Dear Beverly, Jonathan, and Jaimie,
Dan's loss is shocking and heartbreaking. George and I will not forget the times we've had together - especially our time in Eagle Rock, PA. Dan was a good man who loved you a great deal. Through this stinging time of sorrow, I hope you focus on how God has always promised us not a pain-free life, but a life where He will give us strength through our pain and will always be with us. Little Liam didn't yet know Dan, but in time he will learn of Dan's goodness and love.
Of course our hearts go out to Dan's children and grandchildren, to his mother, and to Evelyn.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Dan's family. Beverly we have fond memories of you and Dan from the summer we rented the Jimmy Buffet house in Key West together. We would like to extend our heart felt sympathies to Evelyn, Cynthia, the Boy's, and Beverly.
I have such fond memories of Willis, Evelyn, ( I always called them Mr. & Mrs. Butts) and of course my childhood pal Dan Paul Butts. It was a blessing in my life to have grown up with Dan, he was always a good friend and in our adult life we stayed in touch as Dan was my Insurance Agent. I regret we did not see each other much as we both pursued our careers. It's a shame that it takes a horrible event like this that makes us realize how special childhood relationships truly are to us all. I can say that we knew each other like brothers, and I will miss him very much.
If I could just say to the family, I know Dan would not want to be forgotten, but he would never want to be mourned...He was a great man, and a loving father...I know you all will join me in fondly remembering a special person, Dan Paul Butts....
