MORADIELLOS, Dr. Darwin (1938-2022) After a series of medical issues in recent years, Darwin Moradiellos passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022, at the age of 84, in his hometown of Tampa, Florida. Darwin had a love of learning. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he attended the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree followed by his Graduate of Science degree. Darwin continued his education at the University of Minnesota, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy. His affinity for science led him to The New England College, where he received a Doctor of Optometry degree. Darwin was an active member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Pi Mu Epsilon National Honorary Mathematics Society. Darwin had a passion for math. He could often be found solving complex mathematical problems or working on college math assignments with his grandchildren. Darwin also enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid reader. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Sylvia; stepchildren and their spouses, Mark and Ann Priede, Glynis and Kevin Donnelly, and Hayley and David Norman; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; brother and his spouse, Ralph and Evelyn Moradiellos; many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He loved them all dearly. Darwin will be honored in a celebration of life service on October 20, 2022, from 6-8 pm at City Life Church in Tampa, 8411 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to:The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33607.

Tio Darwin,
You will be truly missed. I will miss all the tutoring sessions over the years for my kids and talking about the "old" times. You remind me of my father talking to you. Rest In Peace. Love your niece, Nini and family

Uncle D was an amazing person with an amazing mind. He was truly one of the most brilliant people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and would always take time in the evenings to help tutor. He played a major part in my educational development and I will always be grateful to him for that. The world lost one of its kindest and most brilliant minds.

My uncle was one of the kindest persons I know and he had a great sense of humor. He was very patient,too. When Frances and I were young we had horses. The only thing in the world we wanted to do was go to the stables. One summer my uncle was at Abuela's house. It dawned on us to ask him to take to the horses. The stables were on Anderson road so it was a pretty good distance. He made a deal with us that he'd take us every other day. The days he was going to take us we were at the back door ready to go. I know it must have not been fun for him,but he always kept his promise. I am going to miss him so much. Rest In Peace Uncle D.
