David Sox Obituary

SOX, David Carl

71, passed away on October 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jill Sox; their children, Matthew Sox, Mark Sox, and Kelly Kurtz (Evan); his brother, Jack Charles Sox (Dianne); and nieces, Kristin and Amanda. David was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 10, 1953 to Jack and Elaine Braswell Sox. The family moved to Tampa when David was six years old. He was a graduate of Plant High School and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Florida. David enjoyed a successful career in technology sales and business development for Unisys/Burroughs and BancTec. He had three true passions in life: his family, Gator football and exploring our national parks. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Zoo Tampa. A celebration of his life is being planned.

David was an early classmate on our trip thru Public School system and always a class act.
Hope these well wishes to his family and friends help in some small way.

Dave was a good friend and loyal fraternity brother. One of my favorite memories was long after we graduated from UF. I took a couple of Segways by his house and watched his kids learn to ride. It was a blast. Gone way too early. We´ll miss you Dave!
