Dean BLACKWELL Obituary

BLACKWELL, Dean K. passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, he relocated to Virginia in 1974, where he graduated from George Mason University. He spent most of his career working for Fairfax County Government until his retirement in 2009. In addition to his devoted wife of 36 years, Jean, he is survived by two sons, James and Matthew; a stepdaughter, Christy Edwards; a granddaughter, Caleigh Edwards, and a son-in-law, Scott Edwards, as well as four brothers and a sister, Worth, Dan, David, Sam, and Marie. A private, commemorative family gathering is planned at a later date in St. Petersburg.

Jeannie, I was so sorry to read of Dean's passing. I have fond memories of the times we spent together in Culpeper. My sincere condolences to you and Dean's family.

Loss of a true gentleman for sure. I will have to collect the one beer he owes me when we meet again. You are gone too soon, guy!! We will miss your wisdom and cultured chuckle at Trafalgar Square. I am going to devote a cold one and some quiet time to memories of you.
