"Please keep this dear soul in your prayers today. He was an integral part of Tally Hall's care team when she was in a coma at All Children's Hospital's PICU in 2008. Each dawn, Devon would do an assessment with a smile and a positive attitude. One of the really good guys in pediatric TBI care is gone." ~ Maggie Hall, her saintly mother.

Condolences to Devon's family and friends. It was so sad to read his obit in today's Times because he was a daily part of our lives when our youngest daughter was at the All Children's PICU with a traumatic brain injury in 2008. Each morning at about 6, Devon would come to see her and he would be unfailingly positive and happy. During those bleak, difficult days, he gave us hope and a smile when it was hard for us to have either. I used to ask him why he was so alert and happy at dawn and he used to say that he liked getting ahead of the day. I'll never forget his smile and his crazy printed Vans. I once told him that he and my daughter, another Vans fan, would have gotten along very well. Our daughter recovered from her TBI and, regrettably, she never got to meet Devon. He was so memorable that, almost six years later, I saw his obit and remembered this dear, free soul. The world is a little less bright today as a result.
