DOUGLAS SCRIBBEN Douglas Scribben, 44, of Lake Placid, Fla., who was born August 21, 1964, in Ashtabula General Hospital in northeastern Ohio, died of accidental causes in the home in which he resided in Lake Placid, the evening of December 20, 2008. He was the youngest son of Bernard and Viola Scribben and also had two brothers, Dennis and Daniel. Doug graduated Jefferson Area High School in 1982 and shortly thereafter moved to Lake Placid, where he worked as carpenter for a local building contractor. Upon the unexpected death of his brother, Dennis, in July 1989, Doug returned to Jefferson, Ohio, where he continued working in the housing industry as a carpenter and handyman. In December 2005, he moved back to Lake Placid to work for a former employer who owned a local construction company. Doug was a good-hearted individual and will be missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his brother, Daniel, who lives in DeBary, Fla. His body will be cremated and his remains will be taken to Ohio, where they can be placed with his brother, Dennis. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home (863) 465-2113
