Leonard R. Scribben

Leonard R. Scribben, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023, at his home in Rock Creek, Ohio.
He was born on June 28, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Michael and Mary (Leonard) Scribben.
He attended Holy Trinity School in Cleveland before moving to New Lyme and graduating from Deming High School in 1952. He excelled in basketball throughout school.
Leonard was drafted in the United States Army in 1952, where he proudly served his country for two years. During his time in the service, he worked in the Chemical Core.
On February 15, 1958, Leonard married the love of his life, Marie Bernice Wiser, they shared sixty-five wonderful years of marriage together.
Leonard worked as a Production Manager at Smith and Wesson, and retired from Hubble Inc.
Leonard had many interests and hobbies: he enjoyed cutting the grass, reading the newspaper, baking pies, and making macaroni and potato salads. During the holiday season, he loved decorating his home, trees and yard with Christmas lights. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers. He also coached Little League baseball for several years and were undefeated.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Marie Bernice Scribben; his beloved sons, Mark (Cheryl) Scribben and Jeffrey (Rachel) Scribben; his grandchildren: Josh, Amy, Jeremy, Jessica, Sean, Bryan, Brandon, Joelle and Ainslee; his great-grandchildren: Emma, Holden, Samuel, Liberty and Lucie. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Leonard Scribben Jr.; his grandson, Jason; his great grandson, Channing and his brothers: Bernard, Michael and Richard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 11:00a-12:00p, funeral service to begin at 12:00p at the Sacred Heart Church, 3049 OH-45 in Rock Creek, Ohio. Immediately following the funeral service, Leonard will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve for all of the kindness and compassion that they showed not only to Leonard but also to his family.
