Edward STOCKTON Obituary

STOCKTON, Edward C.

62, of Land O' Lakes, passed away Feb. 23, 2018 after a short illness. Ed was born Feb. 24, 1955, in New York City, to parents, Edward J. and Frances Stockton. He was raised in Rockland County, NY. After his military service in the Army, he moved to the Tampa area as a young adult. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of South Florida. He then began his career as a financial advisor and worked in that field for more than 30-years. Ed was preceded in death by parents, Edward J. and Frances. He will be deeply missed by his former wife, Laura; sons, Edward J. and James; brother, Richard; nieces, nephews, a grand-niece and several close friends. Many will miss Ed as he had the ability to make everyone feel at ease. He had an infectious smile and a humorous personality. He never met a stranger and had the ability to make everyone feel important when he met them. In short, Ed was a kind and loving person. Ed's family will cherish the memories they made with him over the years. He loved travel, team sports, movies, concerts, and music from the 1970s and 1980s. His wit, humor and spontaneity have always put a smile on our faces and will continue to do so as we think lovingly of our times together. Private services will be held for the family and interment will follow.

Ed, you are greatly missed. You had the biggest heart and such generosity rivaled only by your big brother. Your smile lit up a room when you were in it. You always were cheerful and entertaining. You had a knack with people to put them at ease and make them feel special. You are missed by all of us.

I will miss you my little brother. I will miss your big smile and zest for life. Just like our mother, you made everyone feel important when you met them. You will of course be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace.

To the family and friends of Edward- I didn't know him personally , but I went to Brooklyn Tech w his brother Rich . We recently reconnected after 50 yrs . Rich was always a great guy , and if Edward was the same, they had a blessed family . My and my wife, Barbara, send our condolences to both family and friends. Rich and Mary stopped by our house in Pa on one of their trips to the city, and it was like we never left school, we were. blessed they stopped by. Good friends last a lifetime - Godspeed Edward - may the lord be with you and your family , and give them comfort !
