Ella HUGHES Obituary
(Singletary) 83, of St. Petersburg, passed away Aug. 15, 2017 at Bayfront Health of St. Petesburg. Born in Bellville, FL. She is survived by daughters, Margaret Singletary and Sherrlyn Henry, both of St. Petersburg; three brothers, Frederick Singletary of Ft. Pierce, Harry and Staton Bernard Singletary (Alicia) of St. Petersburg; one sister, Callie Johnson (Robert) of Lake Wales; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. Public viewing tonight Thursday, Aug. 24, from 4-8 pm; Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm at Creal Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, Aug. 26, at New Bethel AME Church, Bellville, FL. Creal Funeral Home & Cremation

How sad I was to discover your passing. Through a miscommunication, I missed your wake and poor health would not allow me to travel north to your funeral. Please allow me to say no finer person I ever met in whom I admired, respected and loved. The first time I met you I detected a wonderful spirit whose heart abounded in love. You made me feel like family from the word go and never neglected to put a nice Christmas gift under the tree every year I knew you. God bless you, dear lady and may you dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

My condolences to the family & friends. I fondly remember Mrs. Hughes from childhood (a friend of my mother's, Mamie Doyle Brown) and as a frequent Dollar Tree customer (34th Street South). She was a quiet spirit and a lady extraordinaire. RIH Mrs. Hughes.

Mrs Hughes was my sons favorite teacher, she loved gardenias john would bring her a bouquet when they were in bloom. I carried on the tradition after he left Seminole Elem. She always had a kind word for her students, she was respected and loved by all that met her.
