The first year is the most difficult. Your memory will be kept alive through your family and friends love and devotion. You will always have a special place in my heart.

To my neighbors of 40 years, we are so sorry to hear about Emma Genes passing. We have many fond memories of her, especially talking with her and always joking about her mowing the lawn. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Gene was a second mom to me( and all the neighborhood kids ), and I have fond memories of growing up with this loving family.
She and my mom were the best of friends. They sewed clothes for our Barbie dolls, made Cabbage Patch like dolls for the little ones who could not afford the real ones. They also made all of us girls Maxi skirts ( which we wore out of respect for our mothers) - I was a tomboy, and didn't particularly like the Maxi skirts, but a lot of love went into the making of these popular skirts , and I wore it to honor our moms who made them with love for their girls.
We always lived near each other. We lived across the street, before Buddy built their house, which was still nearby.
I remember writing notes wrapped around a rock to my best friend, Diana Bush, and throwing the notes across Riverhills Drive. The note was always, "Can you come over to play? Check yes or no. " This was well before cell phones, and we were too young to use the phone.
I'm a better person for growing up during a time when you not only had your parents looking out for you, but loving friends whose parents also looked out for you.
The entire Bush family is very special to me. I wish that I could have visited this kind, loving second mom while she was still living, but being in a wheelchair, I didn't have transportation.
God has provided me with the transportation to pay my respects to this amazing woman who blessed everyone who had the honor of knowing her. It is an answer to my prayers.
I love you, Emma Gene Bush!
You were always there for my family. I will keep your family in my prayers. I will never forget you, or the kindness, and wisdom, and Christian values that you have passed on to your family. Your kindness, and strong faith will be your legacy. You have passed these values to your many family members and friends. I have been blessed with reconnecting with your family after returning to Florida from Virginia. May you rest in peace until our Lord and Saviour returns. I will see you on that glorious day.

Aunt Gene: You will be sorely missed, yet it brings me great comfort and joy to know that you are with Jesus! You are whole. May the legacy of your faith in our Lord & Savior shine brightly in the lives of all who you have influenced for the Kingdom of God.
