Eric PETERMAN Obituary
42, of St. Petersburg, FL, went home to be with the Lord May 12, 2018. Eric attended Canterbury School of Florida and graduated as Valedictorian in 1994. Eric was a member of The American Medical Association, Academy of Family Physicians, National Physicians Alliance, South Tampa Masonic lodge and others. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mom, Rosie Peterman-Thompson; a caring sister, Veronica Y. Peterman Jones; aunts, Gladys Moorer, Marie Hicks, Ruthie Griggs, Mary Hemphill; uncle, James Peterman (Ethel); a host of cousins and other extended family and friends. Visitation Friday, 5-8 pm at Zion Hill Mortuary. Service Saturday 11 am at Bethel Community Baptist Church, 2901 54th Ave. S., St. Petersburg, FL 33712. Guestbook at:

Dr. Peterman was my doctor for about 2.5 years. I'm 66 years old and he's the best doctor I've EVER had. His 'bedside manner' and communication skills were exceptional. When he walked into the exam room he immediately helped you to feel comfortable, with him and with discussing your health concerns. He understood senior citizens and our special needs. My experience with him will forever be the measuring tool I use to rate doctors. I think of and miss him everytime I go to the clinic. I'm grateful and honored to have been his patient, and to have known him. GOD BLESS his family.

Dr. Peterman was a wonderful Cousin/Little Brother ( as I call him) from a child growing up ,teenager, into an OUTSTANDING young Doctor. He has always been a clam, humble, and out going young man. He touch so many lives, in so many ways. He has been truly missed by all of Us. We will forever LOVE YOU OUR DR. ERIC PETERMAN. As my Mother will say..

The late Dr. Peterman's mother Rosie Jackson-Peterman was my City of Tampa co-worker and I known of Eric since he was 11 years old. Rosie was extremely proud of and very active in Eric's achievements and activities, he was accomplish musician, public speaker, played tennis and a high achieving student. When I read his obituary yesterday(5/25) morning in the Times, I was not surprised he became and was a medicine doctor. I like to offer my deepest sympathy to Rosie's family.

Having been Canterbury's headmaster when Eric was a student, I remember him for the excellence of his scholarship, as well as the quality of his character. I particularly remember him for playing the piano at his graduation, at the same time being recognized as the valedictorian of his class. I'm so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. We were both members of the McKnight Achievers Society as teenagers, and he and I would play the piano for the regional meetings. May God's peace comfort his friends and family.
