Other survivors include uncles Bob Mayes (Diane), and Fred Widerman (Gayle); numerous nephews, cousins, and a large extended family throughout the southeastern United States. Eric's love of the outdoors led him into umpiring girl's softball for many years in Atlanta. The American Softball Association named him it's outstanding umpire in 2005. Recent outdoors joys were achieved in kayaking the Chattahoochee River on as many weekends as possible. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, 11:30 am at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa. Burial will take place at a semi-private interment service at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jacob Woolf, Stephen Haubenstock, Perry Gruman, Mark Widerman, Scott Widerman, and Michael Mayes. Honorary pallbearers are those members of the Bayshore Little League Royal Buick Wildcats 1970-1971 able to attend. Contributions in Eric's memory may be made to the Rabbi David M.
