Erma Shimmel

SHIMMEL, Erma Evelyn (Lansberry), 87, passed away November 28, 2006. She went home to be with her beloved husband, George K. Sr., who preceded her in death December 15, 1995. She was the baby daughter of David and Blanche (Wisor) Lansberry born July 4, 1919. On April 3, 1937, Erma and George Sr. were married. They had two children, Donna and George Jr. Erma had four sisters and eight brothers. One brother survives, Albert of Fort Myers, Fla. Surviving are her daughter, Donna, and husband, Bradley Winters, of Tampa, and son, George, and his wife, Barbara Shimmel, of St. Francis, Minn. Surviving also are seven grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren. One grandchild preceded her. Erma was a charter member of Bay Ceia Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2006, at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa. The funeral service will be the following day, Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with burial to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa.
