Ernest J. Bourque

BOURQUE, Ernest J. 85, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Oct. 5, 2007. He was born in Moncton New Brunswick, Canada, and came to St. Petersburg from Hanover, MA, where he resided for 40 years. Ernest was employed by Eastern Edison Co. in Brockton, MA, and retired after 40 years. He was co-founder and Treasurer of Abington Electric Supply Co., Abington, MA, and a member of the board of directors of the Rockland Credit Union. Ernest was active in the community serving as a volunteer fireman and on the board of Selectmen in the town of Hanover. He was an Air Force veteran of WWII. Ernest volunteered at Mahaffey Theater and also performed volunteer duty at Bayfront Medical Center. He was a Catholic and member of Holy Family Church. Survivors nclude a son, Gregory and wife, Eliane, and son, Philip, of Victorville, CA; a daughter, Cathy O'Connor and husband, Skip, of St. Petersburg/Quincy, MA; and 2 sisters, Constance Laurea, of Dallas, TX, and Patricia Merrittm, of Norwell, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gloria. Memorial Services will be on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at 1 pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home.
