Ernestine Reeser. Obituary

REESER, Ernestine 96, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and community leader died April 28th. She was born in Harrisburg, PA March 1st, 1912. She graduated as salutatorian, from Harrisburg HS and from Cornell University in 1934, President of Alpha Phi Sorority. She married Dr. Richard Resser, Jr., in 1938. She was past President of the Pinellas County Medical Auxiliary, member of the First Presbyterian Church, member of the Founding Group of the Museum of Fine Arts and a Charter Member, Manager of the first Museum Gift Shop, Co-chair of the 1974 Museum Mart. She has been a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club for 62 years. She was founder of the St. Petersburg China Painters' Guild and its first President. She was State President of the Florida Porcelain Artist in 1978, Vice Chairman of the World Organization of China Painters in 1979 and a member of the International Porcelain Art Teachers Organization. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Richard Reeser and her daughter, Mary Carole Reeser. She is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Reeser and Marty Rice of Boone, NC; 2 grandsons, Todd and Eric Rice and 2 great-granddaughters, Alex and Emerson Rice. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 5th, at 12 noon at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11-12. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg or a charity of your choice. Dear Nancy and Marty,
John and I send our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your mother. I have fond memories of growing up in the neighborhood together, and will always remember her kindness to me. We are so sorry to be out of town for her visitation and service. Our love to you, Carolyn and John Harrison
