Esther LEONARD Obituary

LEONARD, Esther R.

91, beloved mother and grandmother, retired R.N., passed away February 16, 2017 in Tarpon Springs, FL. She was born to Gaspar and Ignazia Galante in Staten Island, NY. She moved to Florida in 1988. Esther graduated from Flushing Hospital School of Nursing, New York. She worked as a registered nurse epidemiologist. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, John V. Leonard. Esther is survived by her daughters, Linda Thompson (Ray), Susan Allen (Frank), and Janice Robinson (Bill); two grandchildren, Shanna Polignone and Alexander Allen; and brother, Joseph Galante. Funeral services were held in Staten Island, February 21.

I worked with Esther for many years . We ate lunch together everyday at Richmond Memorial. Every Christmas we would include a detailed letter in our cards as to what we were up to in life. I am very sorry and may she Rest In Peace. Mary Cardello
