93, of Largo, passed away August 13, 2025, at his Cypress Palms home surrounded by loved ones and loving staff. He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, LaVerne DeWitt. He is survived by his children, Leland, Everett, and Kelly; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also had a host of great friends at Cypress Palms and Mainlands. Everett was a proud Army Korean War veteran. He was an active member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Suncoast Chapter 14, and later served as chapter president. Ev was known for his charming and social nature. He possessed a remarkable sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed writing poetry, playing cards, bingo, and traveling with his companion, Carol, on many cruising adventures. An Inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Empath Health.
