Stalions, Freeman

born in Carrier Mills, Illinois on September 30, 1937, passed away April 25, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Freeman is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Norma. He is also survived by a daughter, Dr. Kimberly Hill (Scott) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; a granddaughter, Amie Jones (Brad) of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Kyle Pierce (Leah) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Justin Pierce of Valparaiso, Indiana; two great-grandsons, Miles and Asa. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael and his parents, Oscar and Roena Stalions. Freeman served in the Marine Corps. He was a police officer in Pontiac, Michigan for 28 years, retiring as a Captain in 1987. He then taught at Oakland Community College, was personnel director for Concord Drug, and managed a small business. He retired to Palm Harbor, Florida, where he lived for 25 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a lifetime member of both the Fraternal Order of the Elks and the Fraternal Order of Police. His great loves were travel, golf and reading. He and his wife visited every state and 86 countries. He volunteered for 12 years at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida. A memorial service and Mass will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church 1700 Keystone Road, Tarpon Springs, Florida at a later date.
