Gerald Allen Obituary

ALLEN, Gerald of Dunedin died at home May 2, 2021 under the caring staff of Suncoast Hospice. He leaves his wife, Turza; two sons, Marc (Lorna) and Michael of California and two stepchildren, Lydia Weis (Peter) of Massachusetts and Marshall Perry of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Kayla (Kellan) Dube and Katie Allen of California and step granddaughter Thalia Schodel of Massachusetts; five great-grandchildren of California as well as siblings, Natalie Mandel and Matthew Allen both of Florida. Jerry was born Nov. 12, 1925 and lived in Rockville/Vernon, CT until moving to Dunedin. In Connecticut he was in the insurance field and active in politics, serving in various local offices and was elected to five terms in the Connecticut's State Legislature. In Dunedin he enjoyed years of volunteering at the Rotary Centennial Nature Center. One of his lasting contributions there was a well researched article on ospreys which was published and is still distributed as training material for new volunteers. He was a member of Fayette Masonic Lodge #69, Ellington, CT. He was happiest enjoying poetry, travel, golf, fishing, and always his family. He will be remembered for his spirit of kindness and finding the goodness in all. Moss Feaster Dunedin
