I met Mr. Carter when I registered my daughter for first grade when Lopez opened. We became great friends working in PTA together. Then he gave me an opportunity to work for him. He was a very wise man and he treated his faculty like a family. He molded Lopez into the great school it is today by always having the children's best interest at heart. I loved him for what he stood for and the leadership and love that he showed his teachers. I send my thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Carter and the family. He will be greatly missed. May God comfort you at this sad time.

Mr. Carter gave me my opportunity and for that I will never forget him. He was my mentor, my guidance, and most of all my friend. The wonderful conversations that we had regarding school, sports, and politics will always be etched in my mind. The many laughs we shared together regarding whatever topic were memorable. He was a character, a leader, a tough hombre when he needed to be, and yet a soft teddy bear also. He always taught me that no one is perfect but use the strengths of any individual to make your school better and to make that person feel good about themselves. I will truly miss Harry, but will always remember what he stood for and the dignity and integrity that he always used as he walked through life. As I always said about educators, don't worry when you get to the pearly gates, St. Peter will have no questions because he knew what good you did here on earth. God Bless you Harry.

Mr. Carter hired me when we moved to Florida. He made Lopez a family. He was a loyal, kind, and dependable man. He took care of me as a daughter. His integrity, upfrontness, and heart made him a very special person. He had a strong impact on my life and taught me what was important. I am glad I was able to see him over the years after his retirement and keep up with his life. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

It has been some years since our last meeting Mr. Carter. I will remember you as a wonderful mild mannered man of the highest integrity. Our conversations were always interesting, upbeat and adventurous!
My thoughts go out to family and friends. Mr. Carter was an inspiration to all.
May you sail in bliss on the eternal seas!
