Hugh CLARK Obituary

CLARK, Hugh Stickle born July 25, 1928, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. Hugh was an avid student of life, a voracious reader, a natural leader, and an extensive traveler. His interest in local, national, and international politics grew naturally from his education at Yale and Columbia in both social studies and economics. He served his community in many capacities, as a teacher in the public school system, heading the Department of Aging Services, and planning and leading tours throughout Western Europe. His sharp mind, quick wit, playful disposition, and friend-ly demeanor caused him to be greatly loved and now sorely missed by all. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth; his children, Sue, Dave (Marie), Eric (Cecelia), and Tom (Marg-aret); together with his grandchildren Ian, Aprile, Liv, Melanie, Tamino, Elizabeth, Jeanine, Logan, and Sarah; and great-grandson Julian. Hugh donated his body for medical research at the University of Florida; a memorial service and interment will follow at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. This service will include full military honors, as he was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to LifePath Hospice of Tampa at 12470 Telecom Drive, Temple Terrace, FL 33637. Brewer & Sons Funeral Home South Tampa
