Jack Canetti Obituary

CANETTI, Jack Samuel 88, moved to Florida in 1979 from East Rockaway, NY. He was an ironworker and member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Local 580, where he was a part of the teams that created skyscrapers and the world famous New York City skyline. As a small child, he immigrated to the U.S. with his family from Edirne, Turkey. He fell in love with the beautiful woman from across the street and was married to Pearl for 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Jack is preceded in death by his wife and leaves behind his three daughters, Esther Klein of West Babylon, NY, Barbara Canetti of Houston, TX & Janet Heitler of Tampa. Mourning his death also are sons-in-law Stu Klein, Carlos Antonio Rios and Henry Heitler; and grand-children Rick Klein and his wife Laine, Joel Klein, Damian Canetti-Rios and Riana Canetti-Rios. Private gravesite burial at Grace Memorial Gardens, Hudson, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired & Blind, 8610 Galen Wilson Blvd., Suite B, Port Richey, FL 34668

Your father was a wonderful person. I met him at the Bayonet Point Hospital where we both volunteered. We usually ate our supper at the same time. He was just such a gracious man and I enjoyed knowing him.
