It was with great sadness that our family learned of Jim's passing while we were out of the country last month. He was truly a great public servant and a fine human being. His support of FSU was legendary. His cheers at Doak Campbell Stadium will be missed, but his spirit will be remembered always.

Linda,
Those who are so full of life,we think will live forever because they give so much of themselves. They care about others as Jim did.I know your heart is hurting now but the life and memories you both shared will ease the pain in time. He loved his dogs.He was so caring when he brought them into parkway. He was a wonderful person.God will keep you in his arms and see you through.

Dear Linda & Family:
So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Jim. Although we have never met, we have many mutual friends in the Jacksonville area, and I feel I know you through the trust and friendship exhibited by your husband when in Tallahassee. May God be with you and your family.
Jim will be missed, but not long forgotten.

Barbara and I are saddened by the loss of Jim - too soon. What a charismatic driving force he was. We know he will be happy with his two black labs for comfort at his favorite FSU. You are in our thoughts daily and our prayers always.

Jim,
My heart hurts that you are gone. But, you made a serious impact and touched a lot of lives in a very positive way while you were here. Your family can be so very proud of the significant contirbution you made to Jacksonville, the State of Florida and the Recruiting industry. When I heard the bad news about your passing I was reminded of a Winston Churchill comment made on his 75th birthday - "I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is quite another matter". Yep, the Good Lord will have his hands full but I'll bet he adds you to his Board of Directors. That being said, when you make Guardian Angel keep an eye out for all of us.
To your family and friends, "It is healthy and honorable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honorable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people have loved and supported us......people whose footprints cannot be matched" - Maya Angelou.
Goodbye and Godbless my very dear old friend.

Dear Linda, Monta and Lauri,
Our Broken Chain
Little did we know how soon God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts for you to leave, but you did not go alone, for you took a piece of all our hearts, when God called you home.
You left us wonderful memories; your love will always be our guide.
Although we cannot see you, we know you will always be at our side.
Our chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one…….
OUR CHAIN WILL LINK AGAIN!
All our love,
David and Paula Whipple

Senator King will be remembered as one of the "Great ones". He was an honest
politician and a great leader for
North Florida. He evaluated situations on his own and wasn't influenced by peer or outside pressure. He will be missed.

my deepest sympathy to the King Family on the loss of Jim. We know he is now out of his pain and in a better place. I had worked with Jim while he was at the Temporary agency years ago and I worked for Prudential. I was very impressed with him even back then. Jim also did a lot of good while in Tallahassee for Duval county and our people. God Bless each of you at this time.

Dear Linda and family...although we have never really met, my husband and I admired Jim King and were always so glad he represented us in Tallahassee! We almost always agreed with his views (except when it came to 'Noles vs. Gators!) and there will be a great void in the State Senate without him there--we know you will miss him greatly and the City of Jacksonville will as well! God Bless...from two of Jim's constituents here in Duval County...Pat and Rod Brock

I worked for the Florida House, but my favorite memory of Senator King was running into him and his wife at a Waffle House restaurant off of I-10 last year. He was polite and friendly to me and my family. I wasn't in his party or in his district, but everyone I know had the highest respect for him. I always thought of Senator King as a principled public servant, and just a really nice, down-to-earth guy. He will be missed very much, and I can only hope that other public servants will follow in his footsteps.

Senator King was a good man. He assisted me even though he did not have an interest in my cause nor was I one of his constituents. He never asked for anything in return. Deepest sympathy to the family.

My Goodness, Jim. I thought that you would be with us forever, but you were taken where there is no more pain or suffering. I am just a little guy in the scheme of things here in Jacksonville, but I always felt pretty big, when talking with you, and watching you get so much done. You Rest in Peace now, and I'll catch up with you later.

Senator Jim King was a real leader in the Republican Party of Florida. Always ready to give advice on what to do and when to do it to help the party reach its highest potential in state leadership.
