James Macaluso Obituary

75, of St. Petersburg, passed away at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville on November 25, 2018. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he moved to St. Petersburg at the age of 11. Jim graduated from Northeast High School, St. Petersburg Junior College, and the University of South Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Vincent Macaluso; and sister, Jean Politis. Jim is survived by his fiancee, Donna Robbins; sons, James and wife, Kristin, Michael and wife, Meg, and Christopher; as well as grandchildren, Noelle, Sienna, Jessie, and Vincent Macaluso. He is also survived by his brother, Charles; and nephews, Steven and Marc Macaluso.

Jim was the owner and CEO of Macaluso and Company, an accounting firm. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Marine and First Community Banks and served as the Chair of their Audit Committees. He sat on the Board of Stevens and Stevens. He taught at St. Petersburg Junior College and was a Guest Lecturer at the University of South Florida. He had extensive knowledge of federal taxation as an enrolled agent with the IRS, served as a Special Master for the 6th Judicial Circuit, and he specialized in estate tax.

Jim was a member and Past President of the Northeast Exchange Club, Past President and member of the Dragon Club, and a member of the University Club. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held on December 8, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Avenue.
