James Ramage Obituary

RAMAGE, James David "Jim" 50, of St. Petersburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 when struck by a truck while riding his bicycle. Born in Connecticut and growing up in Pennsylvania, Jim attended Penn State and achieved his MBA at Robert Morris College. Jim met his wife, Donna, in Dallas in 1989, moved to Florida in 1990, and married in December 1991. In 1993, Jim and Donna had their only beautiful child, Carly. He was a dedicated employee for AT&T as a National Project Manager for 22 years. Jim and his twin, John, celebrated their birthdays with bike trips, riding the miles matching their age. After biking St. Augustine to Daytona for their 50th birthdays, they were planning to bike the Withlacoochee Trail in October for their 51st. Jim could relate to anyone with his positive attitude and outlook on life. He had the ability to develop friendships that lasted his lifetime. Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Carly; twin brother, John; sister, Susan Maurer; father, William; mother Sara Sechler and stepfather, Rod; and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering will begin at 1 pm with a memorial service at 2 pm on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. Street N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family's college fund at Wachovia Bank, payable to Carly Ramage. Online guestbook: www. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Jim. Jim and I worked together a couple of years ago on the Pitney Bowes account. We talked all the time, not just about work but about our lives. I know he loved his life, wife and daughter and was so proud when he spoke of the two of you. I know he is up there looking down on both of you and will always be there for you, when you least expect it. This is a terrible loss, and my deepest sympathies go out to both of you.

Donna and Carly: Please know that you are in my prayers. Jim was one of the warmest and most caring people that I have ever met. It is impossible for me to think of my youth without thinking of Jim. He was a profound and vital part of my life. His passing leaves a void that will never be filled. Hold onto your love and memories and Jim will always be with you in your hearts. To John, Sue, Sara and Mr. Ramage, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you also.

May God continue to give you strength.

My prayers are with Donna and Carly. Sorry to hear this tragic news. I've lost my best friend in high school, or was that John??? I'm sorry and regret that I have not been in contact with the Ramage boys over the years. I too have gotten into road cycling and did 50 miles on my last birthday. Take care Ramages, Jim will be missed. He was a great guy and good friend to all that met him.

We are heartbroken to hear of Jim's accident, we will miss him tremendously. Even though we haven't always stayed in touch I could always call Jim and we would pick up right where we left off. Jim was a great friend, he and I shared many adventures as roommates at Penn State. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his loved ones. Gary and Cindy Russell

Dear Donna and Carly,

I remember when you were such a small little thing Carly. You would run around the couches in your house when I babysat you. You never wanted to go to bed. How could I blame you? I was the same way when I was a young child. I would come over maybe once a week on the weekends to babysit you Carly, while your father and mother went to go have some time to themselves. They never stayed out late though, and you were always such a pleasent child to be around. My mother Kim, didn't mind me being out a little later than she would of wanted because she knew I was safe at Donna and Jim's house. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for the tragedy that has happened to Jim. It is a terrible thing. I will say though, he left behind 2 beautiful women that he loved so very much! And I know he is watching down on the both of you. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

With all my love,
Nicole Stemm
