Janice Lusignan Obituary

LUSIGNAN, Janice Baker

went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2024. She passed away suddenly after a severe illness. Jan was born in Weirton, West Virginia on May 1, 1956. She grew up in many places in Asia and Jamaica as her father, Gerald Baker, traveled extensively for work. She returned to the US in 1969 and attended Plant High School where she graduated in 1974 and then attended Florida State University. She lived much of her adult life near Houston and considered herself a Texan no matter where she resided. Jan acquired many diverse talents as she was a trained dental assistant, aesthetician, jewelry maker, and most recently dog groomer. Jan loved animals and her motto posted in her room is "dogs welcome, people tolerated." She loved the outdoors especially being on the water, paddle boarding and swimming. Jan leaves behind three wonderful children, Christopher Badger (Katie), Meghan Sadler, and Logan Lusignan all who she loved very deeply; her husband, William Poe (Bill) Jr; her sister, Jodi Perez (Mark) and brother, James (Bo) Baker; her father, Gerald (Jasmin, d.); a niece, Madeleine (Rob) and Marc as well as many beloved family members of her husband, Bill. She also has a great-nephew, Braxton and five step grandchildren, Liam, Kennedy, Katherine, Troy, and Ellie. Jan will be remembered by family, friends, and customers as a hard-working, animal-loving, kind, old hippie. There will be a celebration of life on December 29 at Philippe Park between 1 and 5 pm at Pavillion #2. It will include a brief ceremony at 2 pm and will be come as you are, come and go as you please. There will be food and refreshments. All who loved Jan are welcome.
