Janis Mills Obituary
Her parents, Carl and Elva Carper and
her brother Dwight Carper preceded
her in death, in addition to two grand
children, Jessica Santala and Luke Roever.
Janis graduated from high school in
Harlingen in the class of 1955. She
married her high schol sweetheart,
Pat Mills. They owned and operated a
successful air-conditioning and heating
business in Lubbock for several decades.
Janis was an active member of the Kingdom
Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Quail Creek, Amarillo, TX.
She devoted many hours weekly
to preaching and teaching the Bible and
assisting others to study God's Word, the
Bible. Her goal was to help people
transform their lives to be kind and loving
like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Janis was
an outstanding cook. She was known for her hospitality to all. No one ever left her house hungry. Janis was an amazing resilient woman, a fighter until the very end.
She is survived by her husband, Alonso
(Pat) Mills, 5 daughters, Susan Nave, Cathy
Davis, Patricia Mills, Marcy Geisdorf and
Gina Hunziker, 11 grandchildren: Mikeal Lowery,
Amanda Davis, Jackie KoKo, Jennifer Culwell, JP Santala, Rosemary Wallace,
Tyler Geisdorf, Eric Geisdorf, Emily Walker, Todd Walker, Rachel Alvarado, and 14 great-grandchidren: Paige, Monica, Gabriel, Lale, Brielle, Ari, Emma, Isaiah, Kenizly, Alison, Derick, Carter, Max, and Nicholas.

I am so sorry to hear that Janis has passed away! She was a good friend to my parents John and Dolores Powers. She and Pat will always be remember as the place to go too in Lubbock. My thoughts and prayers go out to Pat and his daughters and family!
