Jerome Schrader

SCHRADER, Jerome Gregory "Jerry," 48, died suddenly Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was born May 7, 1957, the fourth son of Arthur H. Schrader Jr. and Mary Beaumont Schrader, and was a fifth generation resident of San Antonio. Jerry attended St. Anthony's School in San Antonio and graduated from Pasco High School, Dade City, class of 1975. He was a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law and was co-founder of Schrader, Johnson and Auvil law firm. Following his practice of law, he was the co-owner of A & K Lighting Co. and was also enjoying his new enterprise of farming. He, along with his family, was instrumental in forming the building fund for the St. Anthony's Church Parish Center. His greatest pleasure was being with his daughters, attending their sports events, school activities and scuba diving with them. Jerry was widely know for his keen sense of humor and his willingness to aid friends in need. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur H. S chrader, and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Schrader; his two daughters, Victoria "Tori" and Rebecca "Bess" of San Antonio; a stepdaughter, Jessica Maly, and husband, Jay, who reside in the Bahamas; and a stepson, Brett Boyette of Dade City. He also is survived by three brothers, Tom, and wife, Patty, Ted, and wife, Julia, and Terry and wife, Laura, all of San Antonio; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Barons and husband, Mark, of Lexington, Mass., and Mary Kay Caroe and husband, Tim, of Woodbury, Conn. Jerry's broad smile and sense of humor also will be missed by his large and loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, followed by a wake and rosary service at St. Anthony of Padua Church, San Antonio. A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, also at the church. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in San Antonio.
