Jerry SIMUNOVICH Obituary
New Port Richey, formerly of Townsend, DE, passed away at age 79, Friday August 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. Jerry was born on March 4, 1938 in Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia) and immigrated to the United States in 1945 after escaping Nazi occupation. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1958- 1960, and after being honorably discharged, was a member of Local #32 Insulator's Union, prior to starting his own construction Business.Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Rose; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine. He is survived by his fiance, Maureen McMasters; son, Gerard; granddaughters, Kelli Pearson (Ryan), Kimberly, and Kristen; and great-grandson Oliver; brother, Matthew (Ann); and sister Maria Wolf. A memorial mass will be conducted on August 31, 2017 at 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 5340 High Street, New Port Richey, Arrangements are being handled by Michels-Lundquist Funeral Home. Military Honors will be presented at the Bushnell Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ALS Association.

On behalf of the Mahonchak family, please accept our sincerest condolences. Jerry's fiancée, Maureen, is my aunt. Jerry was wonderful to my aunt and especially kind to my grandfather, Francis Reilly, before my grandfather's passing. Jerry was a kind, warm, wonderful gentleman, and a joy to be around. My wife Louise and I always looked forward to time spent with Jerry, and regret we couldn't be in his life sooner.
