For years I didn't know where Joann was living or how to reach her. After ordering a new bedroom set (the first ever in my 37 years of marriage) I had to go through all the drawers. What did I find? It was the contact booklet of the graduating class of 1975 from our 10 year reunion. And of course there was her address. Regrets. I pray she is at peace.
Sincerely
Maureen Southern (Mahoney)

I woke up this morning and remembered what today was and started to feel sad but then I realized that wasn't what you would have wanted. Now ,I am hoping there is something more and that you have discovered that the 3rd member of our little
"Coven",Doris" (Sands) is there too, so both of you better wait for me and get ready for one heck of a home coming!! I miss y'all so much, and you both know what you meant to me and how bearable you made life for me. It's a debt I could never begin to repay. You both know you are loved by many for all eternity. Always my special blessings and never will I forget our times , our tears, our smiles, our "dolly" drives , always the "3"

Just heard about Joann. I'm heartbroken. We went to high school together, then she worked at the phone company with my husband before we all ended up in Palm harbor. She's no longer in pain and she fought hard. The memories I have of our time together are precious. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Dear Mrs. Miller,
Your pain & loss must be extraordinary. Hopefully Jo is in peace, as are you, Bruce, family & loved ones. I have thought of Jo Ann many times over the years, but did not know how to contact her.
We became friends late in High School. We shared Mrs. Bennett's English class. Jo Ann did a skit of mime sword fighting & I LAUGHED.
We becamef riends and explorers for years after that. We went to Florida together in 1975, all around the state. The Keys were beautiful. She introduced me to the Grateful Dead and I have enjoyed them ever since. We played volleyball together. What fun. I even burned my lower inside leg disembarking from her motorcycle after a game. She came to visit me in Montauk after I moved to Long Island. Sadly, we lost touch. I have thought of Jo Ann many times over the years, hoping to connect. Beside my bed, in the bottom drawer of my old chest is a birthday card- "Mo & Jo". I always hoped that one day I would find her and send it. I'll just keep it now. My sincere condolences to you. Oh, I remember too when she first came to Bigsbee school. She wore purple ankle socks. With Jo Ann, there are nothing but GOOD memories, Mom, you did something right.
Sincerely,
Maureen Mahoney -now Southern- yes, she met my husband & guess what, we all had a great time, no surprise.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Jo. I became a friend of her Mom's at the shuffleboard courts at Highland Lakes. Jo had played there as well, and we had met through mutual friends. Jo was a delightful lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

I am sooo completely heartbroken, shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Jo. She was such an amazing person, with a hilarious sense of humor, wittiness, and spunk. I am truly thankful that I got to know her and become friends with her throughout the years at Publix and beyond. We will love you and miss you always. Rest In Peace Jo!

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family!
