Bueno, que puedo decir! Mr CHUNG CHONG! jaja. I know Joel and James since before they got into church. I still remember how he wanted to become part of Unidos en Uno. I remember at first he didn't know how to sing, however, with practice he learned. One of his favorite song TU ME AMAS COMO SOY! He was 14 and I was 17.. Me lo llevaba para las actividades que tenia. Me acuerdo en una de mis campanas cuando invite a llamas de fuego y el hizo su primera pantomima SOLEDAD by Harry Maldonado. He was so excited and I was too. I saw him from a gangste hating GOD and into vicios to an awesome man of God that loved the LORD with passion. Although we argue alot lol, he was just great.. very humble, very honest, and he was a lion with his frieds. He would defend them till the end.

To James, Johnny, Gorgina (mom) yo se que Joel esta descansando. Esperando el momento que la trompeta suene y el sera uno de los primeros en levantarse. La mision de Joel se cumplio. Rest in Peace lil one!

Joel Chung...a true man of God is all that I can say. The impact this young man had in such a short amount of time is just amazing and I know that he was an inspiration for many. The passion he had for God is just beautiful and is of great motivation to all of us. I feel blessed in having the opportunity to have met Joel. He will be missed but we will see him again soon.. My prayer is that the Lord will just continue to raise up more like him..

Joel, Joel, Joel...

What can I say? You were such an inspiration to all of us. I thank God every day for allowing us to meet such a great person.

You are in a much better place. Kinda jealous you made it there first than me! Haha...but we WILL see each other again, brother. Rest in peace.

Miss you a lot...

Joel I truly believe that God brought you to Philadelphia with a purpose and a reason. The youth was blessed by you. I did not get the chance to spend time with you but, for what I saw in those videos I surely missed on a lot of things...Thank you Joel for being so wonderful with our youth and I know that you are sleeping and not dead for God conquered death.Sing out loud to the Lord and praise Him the way He deserves to be praised ....Aleluyahhhhh

You didn't have to spend much time with Joel to realize the type of person that he was. He always had a smile on his face and his love for God was obvious, his main goal in life was to reflect God's love and he didn't take any of the time that God gave him for granted. He was in Philadelphia for a short 2 months but in that time he impacted so many lives through his powerful testimony and his last preaching in which God used him to show us all the GREAT reward that waits for us in Heaven, which is God himself. so Joel, enjoy your reward, and we will see you when we get there.

Joel, my brother, my mentor, my motivator, inspiration and all these things to my son and our youth...I sit here still reading our emails even the last one the same day you parted, the silly ones as well as the serious biblical ones, thank you for the tips..I remember telling one of our youth members, "Age doesn't matter, I am being mentored by a 22-year old!"...you were awesome Joel..I was excited for us before you even arrived in Philly and I made sure to share it with the rest..its an honor to have been your Youth Pastor along with Vince...To think that just by you seeing our picture online you felt a tremendous peace and decided to come to us...wow..God is amazing...He heard our prayers when we asked for you...You became the brother Vince never had and his right hand man...you impacted my son Kevin like you will never know...I saw God do awesome things through you...You will always be part of S.O.N.G. Youth, we will carry on the torch, we will keep the fire burning, we will help fulfill your dream all for the Glory of GOD and HIS KINGDOM! Thank you for sharing so many intimate things with Vince and Kevin, for never allowing PEOPLE to get in your way and not being ashamed of being YOU...you were SUCH an example, you HUMBLED yourself, you were soooooooo HONEST! God LOVED that and HE SHOWED OFF through you! Thank you BOLD SOLDIER OF CHRIST! Your anointing IS STILL IN OPERATION! God's anointing DOES NOT DIE! And to see the testimonies NOW after your departure PROVES that you were truly an anointed MAN OF GOD! See you my lil brother..one sweet day.

::head bowed:: Joel, wow my lil brother in Christ. As he lived here in Philadelphia, he was so excited to move here. Little did I know that the reason his desires to come to Philly were God's desires in his heart. He didn't understand why he loved Philly so much. We shared so many good memories, I have never loved someone so much as Joel, he has impacted so many in such lil time. He will be honored and is wearing the crown of Righteousness next to the Father in heaven. He fulfilled His purpose here, now he is resting in peace. I will miss him with all of my heart...

Such a precious jewel. So unique in his own way. My cousin joel,I and a family of 5 kids grew up together in the same house when my dad (a pastor)fostered him & his brother at one point. My dad showed joel as a child what gave him the start of a beautiful bond he came encounter with the lord. Little did I know that he became a true man of god. A real warrior for the king of all kings defeating all obstacles in the name of the lord once presented to him.I will truely miss him deep (of course the family will too) and by the will of god I will see him once again.Amen

Joel had such a warm, engaging smile. Such a kind soul, he inspired me in so many ways. I am heart-broken that his time on earth was so short.

Joel, the comfort I have is knowing you are now an angel in heaven watching down on us. My prayers are with your family. Rest in peace sweetie.

Wow!!! How to even start... I've known this dude for about 8 years now. His family is like my family. About him?? Wow..!! His smile was always bright and full of energy. He was a person unlike many, very pure, very humble. It's a loss that will impact many of those who knew him. His entire family will be in my prayers.

Joel.. I know I'll see you soon bro, I miss you already. You're my little brother regardless of anything. Thanks for all the great memories you left us with. I love you...

I watched him grow from a 10yo boy to an inspiring, commited, engaging young adult. Someone who had the ability to change your life by just being around him. I know, because he changed my life. Someone put videos on YouTube of Joel preaching and singing. Watch the videos. Embrace the words. Respect the man.
To James, Josh, Johnny, Jamila and Georgina: My heart goes out to you and I cry with you. Joel, where you are now, you finally know how much I loved you and respected you. Your blond haired, blue-eyed friend.
