Joel Teaman Obituary

TEAMAN, Joel E, 77, passed away after a brief illness on March 23, 2015, in Zephyrhills, FL. Born in Bellefonte, PA, Joel attended local schools and graduated from Buffalo State College with a bachelor's degree in education. He taught for 31 years in Niagara Falls Public Schools before retiring in 1993. Friends and former students will fondly recall Joel's wit and pun-filled sense of humor. An avid golfer, Joel was a coach of the Niagara Falls High School golf team and took pride in hitting his own double eagle, a rare achievement in the sport. Joel was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of Amvets and the Moose Lodge of Zephyrhills. Joel is survived by his dear friend Constance MacKay of Zephyrhills; daughter Kathleen (John) Mayan of Westminster, MD; son Thomas (Rachel) Teaman of Buffalo, NY; four grandchildren (Eric Mayan, Rachel Mayan, Frances Teaman and Benjamin Teaman); brother Jon Teaman of Niagara Falls, NY; niece Tracy (James) Erwin of Rochester, NY; and nephew Jon Teaman of Lewiston, NY. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy. Friends may call at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 Hwy 301, Dade City on Thursday, March 26. Visitation is from 2-3PM with a memorial service at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amvets
