John Cook Obituary

COOK, John Alan, 55, of Leesburg, died Monday, May 23, 2005. Mr. Cook was born in Tampa and was a social studies teacher and coach at Leesburg High School. He moved to Leesburg from Tampa in 1992 and was a member of the Rough Riders in Tampa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Howard Cook; and his wife, Rose Marie Cook. He is survived by his son, Jason Cook of Howey-in-the- Hills, Fla.; daughter, Sara Cook of Wilson, N.C.; brothers, Glen Cook of Tampa and Bud Cook of Colorado; and in-laws, Frances and Henry Register of Plant City. Memorial services for John Alan Cook will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Main Street Baptist Church in Leesburg with Chaplain Bob Whitworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Lake Sumter Div., 3261 U.S. Highway 441-27-B2, Fruitland Park, FL 34731. Beyers Funeral Home

It will be with fond memories I remember John Cook...such a genuine man. From the day he entered this world, he always pursued life with incredible enthusiasm, unique humor and an overwhelming capacity to care for his family, his friends, & his community. I will miss him. My sympathy to his entire family.
