John Griffing Obituary

GRIFFING, John F., 83, of Tampa, passed away January 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; six children; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a World War II Army veteran. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Monday at St. Timothy Catholic Church, with interment following at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave.

The priest suggested we all reflect a tiny piece of the divine. In Grandpa, the shard of divinity I saw was the unconditional love he gave to me as a grandchild.



Through all the years that I knew him, his voice had a warm timbre. That, along with his stories and moral character, is what I will most remember about him.
