John Vento Obituary

VENTO, John J., 83, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away January 10, 2006. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., September 23, 1922. He resided in Sun City Center for 22 years and, most recently, Delaney Creek Lodge. He was a 37-year employee of J&L/ LTV Steel. Mr. Vento was preceded in death by his sister, Ann; and brothers, Pat, Dom, Frank and Alfred. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rose; son, John S., attorney, and his wife, Jacqui; beloved granddaughter, Christiana; daughter, Diana, and partner, Beth Fischer; and son, Anthony, and partner, Paul Matijak. He also is survived by his brothers, Joseph and Samuel, both of Pittsburgh. He served proudly in the Army in the 336th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II, surviving the D-Day invasion on Normandy Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. The family would like to thank Dr. Cecil Sue-Wah-Sing, the staff at Delaney Creek Lodge in Brandon, and the staff at Brandon Hospital emergency room and medical intensive care unit. The family requests memorial donations to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements will be private. Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home (813) 689-8128
