Johnnie Thomas MYERS

MYERS, Johnnie Thomas 86, of New Port Richey, was born in Philadelphia, MS on Aug. 7, 1927. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Sallie of 63 years; daughter Dianne (Mark) Lyon, of Hudson; daughter, Cathy (Todd) Smith, of Spring Hill. He has two grandchildren, Krista (Ryan) Clark, of Texas, Aaron (Nichole) Lyon, of Spring Hill. Johnnie was blessed with five greatgrand-children, Chelsea, Melody, and Miles Clark, of Texas, and Amelia and Alexander Lyon of Spring Hill. Johnnie is survived by his sisters, Adelean McMillan and Matt Barrett of Mississippi. He was pre-deceased by his sisters, Louva Dee Hardy and Grace Johnson and brothers, Cloyd, Alvin, and James Myers of Mississippi. He moved to Florida in 1957 working for an auto parts company. He was the owner of Myers Auto Supply from 1963 to 1988. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, involved in his community as a Rotarian serving as president from 1977 to 1978, and recipient of the Paul Harris award. He will always be remembered as a dedicated Christian, a faithful husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, an honest businessman, a worthy friend, and a man filled with wisdom, integrity and humor. Visitation will be at Faupel Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 from 5p-8pm. A memorial celebration will be held at 10 am, at First Baptist Church, 6800 Trouble Creek Road New Port Richey, on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. Graveside service will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church New Port Richey Building Fund or HPH Hospice 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson, FL 34667.
