Joseph Laurain Obituary

LAURAIN, Joseph Patrick, 85, of New Port Richey, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. He was born in Detroit, Mich., and lived in New Port Richey for 24 years coming from Battlecreek, Mich. He was a heat treatment technician for Eaton Manufacturing Co. in Battlecreek, Mich., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey and of Loyal Order of Moose in Plymouth, Ind. Survived by his wife, Doris of New Port Richey; sons, David Laurain and Ted Laurain, both of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughters, Nancy Martin of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mary Cook of Roanoke, Va., Jody Higgs of Portage, Mich., and Jeana Thurman and Deeann Gray, both of Battlecreek, Mich.; sisters, Ann Smith of Canton, Mich., and Alice Parish of Lincoln Park, Mich.; stepson, Roger Burkholder of Waupun, Wis.; stepdaughter, Sandy Garrard of Martinsville, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-5 p.m. at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 4, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family suggests donations to a favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, New Port Richey.
