Stella Lives! Think of Katherine often with always fond memories...:)
December 2, 2009
Kath,
Happy Birthday. Ma was so proud of you, often smiling at how much you were like dad - quiet and strong. Little did we know how true! I miss you dearly, and find some solace in the Katherines garden I planted out front. Pansies for the winter, in case you wondered.
Love, your "sistah" Candace

Dear Lady "K",
I thought of you both some 19 years ago on this past tuesday July 7th. and how happy you both were then and right up till forever. The years seem to have flown by, yet they were all 24 hrs long. Missed you tuesday and also on friday to celebrate Lise's birthday. I felt your presence anyway and looked back into my digital camera of the pictures I took of you on your birthday last year and all of us around you. So my friend another year has gone bye, but it's not like years past for you are with us in spirit instead of next door. Another new chapter on our journey began last March, and I for one wish it had a different story to it. Thinking of you often my friend. LOL, K.

Dear Lise and Family,
Katherine has made her transition from this world to the next where I believe there is no more pain for her, split shifts at work,
working holidays and of course the night shift. We can feel her gentle spirit all around us guiding us at times when we need it the most. If we can be still for a little while we'll feel her spirit around us and she will help guide us through anything that's bothering us. I feel so blessed to have you all as friends and Lise for you both asking us to move down here with you. My life has been greatly enriched by knowing Katherine. Katherine was always a lady that's why I called her "Lady K". Her grace and empathy for me at times was truly a blessing. Her shy smile one minute and then at another time she would leap up from the sofa yelling passionately at the New England Patriots football team when they were playing poorly. I'd laugh at her because I think she thought they could hear her. She was passionate about everything she cared for. These times were priceless to me. She could be like two different people. I've enjoyed knowing and loving Katherine and for her gift of sharing herself with me that has helped make me a better person today. The next time I hear the songs "Rocking a round the christmas tree" or "Crazy" I'll fondly think of "Lady K". God Bless you all and may His grace fill the large void left in your hearts at the loss of Katherine's presence in your lives.
With love and my very deepest sympathy,

Dear Lise and Family, My thoughts and love are with all of you in this time of sadness. I had the privilege of knowing Katherine for 35 years and am so very fortunate to have been her friend. I know she never understood the impact she had on the lives she touched...her loyalty, intelligence, her wit and her love were there for us all and have left wonderful memories to treasure. I've missed her since she moved to FL and will now miss her more although I will continue to talk to her. My memories of Katherine will bring me great comfort and joy...I wish the same for all of you...Love, Carol

Dear Family,
Each of our hearts have been touched by Katherine in a very special unique way. What we have now, is both our love and memories of her, gifts that will always be ours.
I believe this poem is the truth for our beloved partner, sister, aunt, friend, co-worker and puppy lover, Katherine.
Do Not Weep
by Mary Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
I hold you each in my heart ....

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Katherine, my co-worker and friend. She always seem to smile and laugh easily. I looked forward to her stopping by my desk to chat. I was awed by her ability to complete our crossword puzzles so quickly. She will be missed so much here at Verizon. ("To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." - Clyde Campbell)

Dear Lise, Candace, Pat, David, Stacie, and Scott,
I had the great pleasure and good fortune of working closely with Katherine (Stella) for 12
years at Verizon. She was truly a gem and I am SO grateful for the memories, laughs, and true friendship of your loved one. I loved her too, and am a better person for having known her.
I want you all to know what a positive impact she had in my life. We had a saying, among many others...Stella lives, and she does and always will in our hearts. Katherine will NEVER be forgotten.
My condolences to all who knew and loved her. Her memory and spirit live on.
Candace

Dear Family,
From all of the reading I have done recently: " If you do it (grieving) right, it will get better. The grief never completely goes away, but it does start to fit into your life in a more manageable and less painful way. The hole caused by that loss in your life is never completely filled, but we can begin to shift from unbearable pain to sweet reminders of the wonderful ways that person impacted our life".
May we help each other get to that point, in our own ways and time frames. I love you all.
