Kevin was a good soul. He enjoyed life to the fullest and invited others to share in that experience with him. I quite literally trusted him with my life, while assisting him with some work on his A-frame house, I recall he lowered me by line down from roof to the area that we fixed. A gentle giant in many ways. Aloha Kevin.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I used to talk to Kevin whenever he came to wmnf. He was the nicest guy. A long time ago he used to invite me to some parties he had out somewhere. I never made any. But was always glad to see him at wmnf.

Groover Family (Keith)

When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am very sorry for your loss, but I understand that the memorial service was very moving. I'll remember Kevin very fondly from High School.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

So sorry about Kevin having to leave us behind. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him deeply. My thoughts and prayers go to each of his family and friends. We all have lots of good memories of Kevin and how giving he was to each of us. He would make you laugh even when you were down and out. My love and prayers go to all of Kevin's family. He had a heart BIGGER than he was and would do anything in order to help someone in need. We love each of you more than you will ever know. Bertie and Jim Bland Kure Beach, NC

To the Groover family, I'm saddened by Kevin's passing but grateful to have 35 years of memories. We met through mutual friends, enjoyed everything from camping to music events, traveled to Jamaica w/ Skipper's bunch, we were roommates in 1987 and he once even saved my life. Still in touch through lifes ups and downs...he just kept going...now he can rest in peace...remembered as a bluesman & gentle giant...

My dad asked tonight if I had seen the notice of Kevin's death in yesterday's paper....We travel many roads in life's journey, some which take us far away from one another here; yet our thoughts-prayers transcend physical space and we can rejoice in the promise of reunification in God's greater kingdom, where He shall "wipe away our tears." May the Groover family be comforted by the presence of God's Holy Angels and His Peace "which passes all understanding." the Warsick-Rinzivillo family

A real gentle giant, we never heard Kevin ever say a harsh word against anyone in the 35 years we knew him. Considering all of his comebacks, this is a shock to know he is gone.
