Lewis Abraham Obituary

ABRAHAM, Lewis, 79, of Lacoochee and Dade City, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. He was born March 20, 1925, in Springdale, Fla., and lived most of his life in Dade City. He was predeceased by his parents, Elias and Esther Abraham; and cousin, Tommy Abraham. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred Phillips Abraham; four children, Bobby (Dawn) Abraham of Trenton, Fla., Tony (Pam) Abraham of Dade City, Lisa (Kip) of Orlando and Laura Lee Hart of Dade City; grandchildren, Andria and Chad Abraham of Dade City, Ariel and Joey Hart of Dade City, Bo, Kristen and David Rodenberry of Orlando, and Kye (Jody) Abraham of Munith, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Chad and Aaron Abraham of Munith, Mich.; sister, Lorise Abraham of Dade City; and a sister-in-law, CD (Bill) Shanahan of Indian Rocks Beach. Mr. Abraham was in the fuel business in Dade City for 51 years and was the owner of Lewis Abraham Real Estate for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and subsequently graduated from Tulane University. He was a member of the Dade City Rotary Club, Pioneer Florida Museum, Dade City Chamber of Commerce, Dade City Jaycees, and Trilby Lodge 141 F&AM. He served on the Dade City Commission for four years. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Friday, November 5, 2004, at 10 a.m. with Charlie Waller officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Gardens with Masonic Rites. Flowers will be appreciated, but in lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to either the Pioneer Museum or Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
