Linda Ramsey Obituary

Ramsey, Linda Anne

86, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Muncie, Indiana, on August 11, 1939, to Willis and Hazel Phelps, she was the eldest of three daughters and grew up with a deep devotion to family. At 18, Linda met her lifelong partner, Verland Donald "Don" Ramsey, in Indianapolis, and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and children. After moving to Florida in 1965, Linda dedicated herself to raising her family before pursuing her own career. At 41, she proudly earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and went on to break barriers as the Acting Head of Human Resources for Hillsborough County. She later served as the Director of Human Resources for the Tampa Bay Port Authority until she retired in 2006 after more than two decades of public service. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her love, strength, and example. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11 am at Loyless Funeral Home, Land O' Lakes, Florida.
