Louis SCIAN Obituary

SCIAN MD, Louis F. 92, died March 8, 2024. He was a resident of Willow Brook Nursing Home in Park Point Village, Rock Hill, SC. His beloved wife, Sharon, passed in January 2023. A well-respected physician, board certified in internal medicine, he practiced for many years in St. Petersburg, FL and was a member of the Suncoast Medical Clinic. Born in Italy, he emigrated to America as a boy, settled with his parents in Trenton, NJ, and earned scholarships to Princeton (Class of 1952) and Columbia Medical School. He completed his residency in Tokyo, Japan, while serving three years in the US Air Force. Lou and his family (first wife Suzanne and their four children) moved back to the states, settled in New Jersey, and later moved to St. Petersburg, where Lou practiced medicine. Lou and second wife Sharon married in 1985. After retiring, they moved to South Carolina, where they continued to enjoy their passions for travel, food, friends, and family. An avid bridge player and football fan, Lou will be missed but we rejoice that he and Sharon are reunited again. He is survived by his children, Barbara (Jeff Munford), Michael, Deborah Lead-better, and Amy; six grandchildren; and Sharon's family, Linda Dohan, Colleen Countryman (George), Jeannette Guynn, Eileen Aristizabal, and Kenneth Schinnen.

Dr. Scian was my mother's doctor and employee for many many years. My mom loved
him dearly. He was a great physician. When he retired my mom really felt bad. She felt like no one could replace him. She loved Him and the entire Scian Family. My condolences and heartfelt symphaty to he family.
Much love and prayers,
Minnie's daughter, Merline

Dr. Scian was my first primary care doctor when I moved to Florida more than 30 years ago. I always felt well cared for by his practice. He was warm, but no-nonsense. I was devastated when he retired and I had to find another PCP. No one ever came up to his standards. He was truly a dedicated medical professional.
