Luis Bernal Obituary
You could not help but be touched or forever changed if you were lucky enough to know him. He was the happiest, most positive, sincere, hard working young man. He took the love two parents left him and made it count every single day.
He is survived by his wife, Joana Garcia Bernal; brother, Benjamin Bernal, Jr. and wife Beatrice of Odessa; sisters, Abigail Bernal and her fiancé Jesse Aranda of Andrews, Sarah Bernal Garcia and husband Mark, Elizabeth Bernal and fiancé Blake Martinez; grandparents, Thomas and Josephine Moreno of Odessa, Thomas Bernal of Odessa; father-in-law, Samuel Garcia and mother-in-law, Linda Reyna; brother-in-law, Samuel Garcia, Jr. and sister-in-laws, Linda Garcia-Gonzales and husband Jesus and Michelle Garcia of Odessa. He loved and spoiled 6 nieces, 7 nephews and one on the way.
Thank you for the support of everyone during this difficult time.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 20th at 10 AM at First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Jr., Julian Davis, Jose Camacho, Jesse Martinez, Mark Garcia, Samuel Garcia, Samuel Garcia, Jr. and Jesse Aranda. Visitation will be held from 5 – 9 PM on Wednesday, January 18th, at Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels and 9 AM – 9 PM on Thursday, January 19th with a prayer service being held at 7 PM Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels.

Words cannot describe the agony I feel everyday missing you & realizing I can't see you, hug & kiss your dear face. It's been 4, almost 5 years since you passed & time has made this journey so difficult I see friends & family members enjoying there loved ones & can't help but fight back my tears of all the loss I've had. I did not have the pleasure of knowing you, but my two sons did, Justin and Jordan Hernandez. Justin was the last one to talk with you as you left his store after buying your morning burrito and plate for lunch. He was the last one to see you alive. He is taking your death very hard. His misses you coming in every morning and cheering everyone up with your jokes and smile. From what I understand from my boys, you were a great person to be around. The day I met this young man he touched my heart. My nephew and son and some of their friends along with my family shared laughter and we had so much compassion for this young man for everything he had gone through. The day I met Louie, He was so happy he had got his first job and was able to contribute for that Thanksgiving meal that year. He was a person who was very greatful for everyday of life and for what little he had. He saw the positive in what situations he was forced to be in. A very respectful young guy.
