Magnus FLAWS

1930 - 2024

FLAWS, Magnus Jr. of Brandon passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1930 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late Magnus Flaws and the late Nancy Eaglesham. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1951, was a Certified Public Accountant, and a proud alumnus of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He led the accounting firm of Magnus Flaws and Company for more than fifty years and was dedicated to serving his many devoted clients, friends and family. Beyond his professional obligations, Mac had many interests. His favorite get away spot after tax season was in the Western North Carolina mountains. He made many friends there and considered them family. He loved many types of music, and performed for years with choirs and quartets. He loved sports, especially his Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and enjoyed a glass of a good Cabernet. Always a fan of a good prank or joke, Mac had an amazing sense of humor and always seemed to know the right thing to say at the right time. His compassion for people endeared him to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother, David Eaglesham Flaws; son, Magnus Flaws and many dear family members and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margorie E. Flaws; three children - Larry (Susan) Flaws, Melissa (Carl) Mustain, and Mark (Lori) Flaws, all of Valrico. He had eight grandchildren, Alicia Miller, Ashley Suggs, Lawrence Flaws, David Flaws, Olivia Mustain, Daniel Flaws, Ben Flaws and Caroline Flaws, and seven great-grandchildren - Emma Samuel, Macy Miller, Isaiah Suggs, Noah Suggs, Bristol Flaws, Raelynn Flaws, Ensley Flaws, and one on the way. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to his caregivers Sasha, Dianelys and Natasha. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ECHO, The Spring of Tampa Bay, or Metropolitan Ministries. Private interment will be held at a later date for family only at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
