Ms. Calloway was and is a precious jewel that I was blessed to share a beautiful mother/daughter/friend relationship with. Fierce, clever, intellectually curious and open to many possibilities, her laughter and spirit could fill a room..so loving and kind to me and my family..quick witted and ready to be anything BUT wrong there is a hole in my heart that is only justified knowing she is in Heaven I LOVE HER and will always honor and respect her Legacy!!!

I am so thankful for how our lives intersected. Thank you for urging me to pursue my goals and dreams with confidence and diligence. I play your sweet words of exhortation in my mind: "It's going to happen." And it makes me smile. Thank you for loving me enough to be honest when I acted in ways that were unwise. Thank you for praying for me. I miss our talks, especially on Sunday evenings. Sometimes I just wrap myself in the memory of your smile, your laughter, and your hugs and I find a bit of comfort. I miss you so much, my sweet friend.

Ms. Mary, although I never met you, I met Christopher. His charismatic, witty, gentle spirit, I can only assume he got from you. May you rest in heavenly peace & may your spirit live on in all you've touched.
May 26, 2016
Although I've ever met you, I feel as though I know you. Your son's love for you, as well as yours for him, showed in every part of his life. I've seen so many people share great memories about you. Love is so powerful, so sacred, yet you gave it to many, so willingly. Unselfishly. Our communities need more "big mommas" like you. Although you are not here physically, It is my prayer that the love you shared will bless this generation, and those to come.

Mrs. Calloway was a part of our family for a very long time. My earliest memories as a child, particularly at Immaculate Conception, include Mrs. Calloway. She made the Rouson family her family too. I could also get a smile, a kind word, an encouraging word no matter what was going on. She was the steadfast friend for my mother every time my mother came back to St. Pete to visit. Someone who made you feel like you were home no matter how long you had been away. She will be missed. They just don't make good folks like her anymore these days.

Thank you Ms. Calloway, for everything.
You showered myself and my little brothers with an incredible and unconditional love from the moment we entered your class at Immaculate Conception. You protected us, you took care of us, and you doted on us because you were so proud. I will miss you forever, but I am comforted in knowing that I now have the most precious guardian angel watching over me. Your spirit lives on in all of us, all of your children, and your example of love will continue to guide and inspire me for the rest of my life. The city of St. Petersburg will forever be indebted. On behalf of the Battle Family, rest in eternal peace.

Words cannot express the loss I feel from the death of Mary Calloway. She was a guardian angel for many of the children of St.Joseph'Parish and all of South St. Pete.
She projected quiet dignity, class and intelligence as she lead the fight for justice and equality for all. We will miss her terribly. We send our condolences to her family.

I Love you so much, you was and still will be a great Godmother to me, I know for a fact that I don't have to worry about you no more. Because I know where you at now. This has been a challenging week and days knowing that I will not see you physically when I go to your house. However you taught me very well. You told me how to lean and Trust in God and he will see you through. I know that God and Time will heal all things. You have been in my life for over 30 years and my preschool teacher. We had some wonderful times together. My heart and my soul is Sad, however I know you are with Luther and your two boys and most of all with God. I love you and you will always be in my heart. And just think I just saw you a couple weeks and was telling you the floor in the house was to slippery now this. Therefore God will take care of children just believe and faith the size of a mustard seed. Ms Mary Calloway you was the greatest and you will always be. Because of you I have 4 degrees and you watch me learn each one and complete each one. I will say see you later because one of these morning I will see you again, when All of God children get together what a time.

Another beautiful soul has left this earthly place for a greater place on high. Giving the best in all that she did to everyone she knew; she was a cheerful giver by scriptural definition; her smiling face will be a glorious ray that will shine upon us from heaven. A royal queen has received her royal crown and took her royal seat next to the Master. Peace and Blessings to the family during this time in your life. We will miss her.
