Matthew CALLAHAN Obituary
40, of Tampa, passed away suddenly Friday, April 13, 2018. Matt was born and raised in Tallahassee where he showed an aptitude as an artist from early childhood. He graduated from Florida High School and went on to the Atlanta College of Art. He moved to Tampa Bay in 2000 where he began his work as a successful muralist with his company, Man Made Murals. You can see his work all over the country from Florida to New England to California and locally in Tampa and St. Petersburg. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Erika Callahan; son, Logan Callahan; parents, Michael "Mick" and Sheila Callahan; his stepmother, Inguna Callahan; siblings, Jim Callahan, of San Francisco, and Tom Callahan, of Washington, D.C.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will conduct memorial service in Cedar Key, Saturday, April 21 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to LeMoyne Art Gallery, 125 N. Gadsden St, Tallahassee, FL 32301, where a scholarship for young artists is being created in Matt's name. Arrangements handled by:

Thoughts and prayers go out on this anniversary of Matt's passing. I pray for all of the Callahan family each and every day, that they feel his presence and know that he is watching over all of you. I saw the most incredible sunset the other day while at the beach with my Son, grand-daughter and great-grandson and realize how blessed I am AND when I looked up at the sky, I immediately thought of Matt. Thank you all of the Callahan family for sharing him with this world, even though it was so short. May Peace, Love and Happiness be with you always in your memories and hearts.

My thoughts & prayers go out to all of Matt's family on their tragic loss. I was lucky to have witnessed many of Matt's fabulous creations throughout Tampa Bay & especially Channelside. What a warm, loving, outgoing and talented young man and inspiration to so many. God Bless you Matt for adding your special touch on this world. May you continue to shine your light thru your legacy.
