Matthew Frost Obituary

FROST, Matthew Michael, 41, of Tampa, died October 11, 2008, from injuries received as a pedestrian in a traffic accident in Taipei, Taiwan. Born August 23, 1967, in Peoria Ill., he is survived by his children, Olivia, Lily and Henry; his mother, Mary, and her husband, Mark Feingold; his father, Michael, and his wife, Laura; his sister, Leslie, and her husband, Andy Sable; his nieces, Stella and Scarlett Sable; his nephew, Elliot Sable; his brother, Jason, and his wife, Julianne; his great- aunt, Helen Blackman; his aunt and uncle, Dana and Jack Buck, and their children, Angie, Allison Strickler (Peter), Jack, Ashley and Abby; and his aunt and uncle, Tracy and Tim Schulze, and their children, Andy and Ryan. Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grand-parents, Jack and Anita Frost, and his maternal grandparents, George and Ruth Miles. Matt grew up in Tampa and attended Berkeley Preparatory School. He was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. It was there where his interest in Asian and Chinese culture began and led him to move after college to Taiwan, where he inspired dozens of people to move and discover both themselves and the world abroad. Matt eventually returned to Tampa and started a family. Matt insisted on helping those less fortunate and those in need and that spirit of kindness and love continued until his last moment on this earth. As per his wishes, Matt' s organs were donated to many grateful recipients in Taiwan. Matt will always be remembered as a loving father to his children and a truly selfless and generous individual. He will be greatly missed by his family members, many friends and the countless people he touched throughout the world. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, October 17, at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Preparatory Academy, where his son Henry is a student, 3916 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33610 or Help Brings Hope to Haiti Inc., 2617 Prospect Road, Tampa, FL 33629.

I went to college with Matt. I haven;t seen him since but I remember what a sweet natured and friendly guy he was. He had a big dog, a Saint Bernard maybe?

So sorry to hear about his passing.
My condolences to his wife and children.

Best regards,
Laura Lindstrom

My and Judy's deepest condolences and sympathy to the entire Frost family and extended friends and relatives. Only knowing Matt for about 4 years during franchise related work, he was a caring, fun-loving, smart gentleman. I will always have fond memories of our trips together, time spent talking, and his great sense of humor.

To the whole Frost family,

What an incredibly terrible tragedy to lose a wonderful spirit like Matt! He was a beloved father, son, brother and friend. Matt meant so much to our family, the Kennedys, and we will all miss him very much. What a wonderful gift of organs Matt was able to give to so many Taiwanese at the end of his life.

With love,
Erin and Robert
