Michael FICKES

FICKES, Michael "Mike," 64, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, 2011, surrounded by loved ones at LifePath Hospice. He was born July, 9, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, and moved to Florida in 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jo Fickes. He leaves behind his daughter, Lindsay; sisters, Jeri and Christy; and many loving friends. Mike served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam veteran. His hobbies included golfing, Lip Sync events and roller skating, which earned him numerous Men's Southeast Regional Championship titles. Mike touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. A memorial service will take place in is honor at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Melech Hospice House, 11125 52nd Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617, (813) 984-2200. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LifePath Hospice, as a thank you to the commendable care they have provided.
