Miriam HATTORI Obituary
of St. Petersburg, FL and Fishers, IN, born in Honolulu, HI October 20, 1931, passed away March 30, 2017. Miriam attended nursing school in Honolulu, after which she accepted a job at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and ultimately became Head Pediatric Nurse. She met her beloved husband, Kiyo, at a Thanksgiving dinner in Chicago, sparking a wonderful life-long journey of marriage and family.
Miriam practiced nursing in her earlier years, but her greatest accomplishment was raising two sons and a daughter to become warm, kind, and successful individuals, just like Kiyo and her. Miriam was loved and admired by those she touched throughout her lifetime, and was widely known for her warm and generous heart, gregarious personality, sharp wit and contagious laugh. Never one to be shy, she had an uncanny way of quickly making new friends everywhere she went. Her spunky personality and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Miriam is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kiyo, of 54 years. She is survived by her three children, Robert, Amy, and William (wife, Leesa); her grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Brett, Matthew and Lexys; and three great-grandchildren, Magnolia, Melody, and Maddox.
